Olympic weightlifting for beginners to advanced athletes

Nottingham Weightlifting Club is affiliated to the British Weightlifting Association and runs from Compound Strength & Conditioning three times per week. The three sessions are coached by our British Weightlifting certified trainers.

Olymipic Weightlifting

As a sport Olympic Weightlifting consists of attempting two maximal lifts: the snatch and the clean & jerk. In competition
the combined total of the highest two successful lifts determines the overall result within a bodyweight category.

Olympic weightlifting has no equal for developing speed, flexibility and coordinated, total-body strength and muscle. The speed of the movement requires Olympic lifters to recruit every fast-twitch muscle fibre. Essentially Olympic weightlifting can completely change one’s holistic levels of strength and fitness.

Training with NWC

Nottingham weightlifting club is suitable for the beginner right through to the competitive athlete. Our classes are between 90 minutes - 2 hours long so the coach has plenty of time to spend 1:1 with everyone training in each class.

Classes can be used as a supplement to S&C to improve on the olympic lifts, or they can be attended to focus on these lifts alone as their own sport.

The sessions have a social and relaxed environment, and you're sure to make some new friends along your weightlifting journey!

Full membership - £59.50 pcm
Unlimited classes per month (strength & conditioning and olympic weightlifting) plus unlimited open gym in Compound Second Space
Full class membership - £55.00 pcm
Unlimited classes per month (no access to Second Space)
Part membership - £47.50 pcm
2 classes per week, can be used for strength & conditioning and/or olympic weightlifting (no access to Second Space)
Second Space only - £42.50 pcm
Open gym only at Compound Second Space

All of our memberships have a 30 day cancellation policy but no fixed term contract. If you're unsure about which membership to choose, come speak to one of the team. Memberships can be upgraded/downgraded as needed.

If a membership doesn't work for you we do have drop in rates available; a Nottingham Weightlifting Club drop in is £10 for the 90 minute session, or an open gym drop in session at Second Space is just £6.
